Activity history

The trustees had the power to appoint committee(s) from their number for the better management of the business and affairs of the institution. After 1886, they also gained the power to appoint a secretary and treasurer to provide administrative support.

In 1887, the government of the school passed to the governing body of the newly formed Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College. The appointment and management of executive committees therefore became the responsibility of the technical college. In 1912, the government of the school passed from the control of the Technical College to that of the School Board of Glasgow.
