Activity history |
The Court and Senate of the University were supported by a number of executive committees, both of Court and of Senate. The management structure of the University through the committee system was deemed too diffuse, however, and, following a report of the Court Committee on the Organisation and Efficiency of Decision-Making in 1987, a new body was established. It was a joint committee of Court and Senate and was known as the University Management Group. It was designed to assist Court and Senate by formulating policy proposals and overseeing the implementation of agreed policy without in any way infringing upon their powers and responsibilities. It was, in effect, the principal day to day operational manager of the University. |
