Activity history |
Although no evidence has been found for how student complaints were handled, it is assumed that they were dealt with, in the first instance, by the instructors and reported, if necessary, to the visiting committee of the trustees, which was responsible for the management of the academic affairs of the institution. This committee was replaced in 1896 by the teaching committee. Any necessary administrative support was provided by the secretary. Ultimate authority concerning complaints presumably rested with the trustees, and, from 1896, the governors. |
