Activity history

Until 1892, the framing of regulations for student discipline was the responsibility of the College's Executive Council and the handling of individual cases of student misdemeanour was the responsibility of the College Secretary and the professors and lecturers.

After 1892, when the College became Glasgow University's Department for Women, the Executive Council was dissolved and the government of the College transferred to the University Court and Senate. The College Secretary (renamed Mistress in 1909) remained in charge of the general interests of all women students and was still primarily responsible for discipline but the ultimate responsibility now belonged to the University Senate, subject to the control and review of the University Court.

In 1935, the college buildings were sold and the whole administration, including the handling of student discipline, passed to the University.
