Activity history

A number of different records were created to record information about students. Firstly, the Librarian recorded the matriculation details of students each year in the College albums. Secondly, at the beginning of each year, the Clerk of Senate drew up a roll of all the students. In this roll, students were grouped by year of study and the amounts of any bursaries they had been awarded were also recorded. This roll was submitted to the Senate and recorded in the Senate minutes between October and December. The Clerk also produced statistics from this roll which he submitted to the Senate.

Also, each year from 1944, reports on the progress and conduct of each student were compiled by the Principal and professors and sent to the student's local presbytery and the Central Selection Board, to enable it to review a student's progress at any point during the year.

Following the union of the College and Glasgow University's Faculty of Divinity in 1935, the University also became involved in compiling student records and statistics.

The College Principal was responsible for providing references for students.
