Activity history

Until 1892, the College's Executive Council set regulations for the admission of students. Students had to be over seventeen unless they held a university senior local certificate. Admission applications were handled by the Secretary together with the professors and lecturers subject to the approval of the Executive Council.

After 1892, when the College became the Women's Department of Glasgow University, the University took over responsibility for setting admissions criteria and handling admission applications. The College Secretary (renamed Mistress in 1909) appears, however, to have retained some involvement in the process.
