History |
The Committee of Management was established 29 May 1894 under the constitution drawn up by the committee appointed for this purpose at a general meeting of the mechanics' class at Anderson's Institution. In 1879, the College was registered under the companies acts and the Committee of Management was replaced by a Council. |
Mandate |
The Committee of Management was responsible for the whole management of the College. It had the power to make bye-laws for the better regulation of the class and Library provided that they did not infringe upon the constitution. |
Administrative structure |
The Committee comprised sixteen members chosen by and from the students of the course on chemistry and mechanics. It met once a month. Initially, there were three subcommittees: finance, library and apparatus. |
