History

The Staff Council was in existence from at least 1908. It was superceded by the Board of Studies in about 1927.

The Staff Council met in the School's building in Renfrew Street, Glasgow.

Mandate

The Staff Council discussed all matters relating to teaching, students and staff.

Administrative structure

The Staff Council comprised the Director, heads of departments and principal teachers. It had various committees including one established in 1918 to consider and report on courses for the training of art teachers and one established in 1925 for the direction of studies which appears to be the Board of Studies.
