History

The office of Secretary and Treasurer was created in 1888 by the College's Board of Governors. As the College grew, so the responsibilities of the office grew, and it was renamed Secretary and Director in 1903 to reflect its changed role.

Mandate

The Secretary and Treasurer provided administrative support to the Board of Governors and was responsible for all aspects of the College's administration including financial, personnel, legal, estates and student matters.

The Secretary and Treasurer was supported by an Assistant Secretary.
