Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is GASHE?

A.

The Gateway to Archives of Scottish Higher Education (GASHE) is an integrated gateway to Higher Education Institutions’ (HEI) records, the primary resources for Scotland’s educational, intellectual and cultural history. For more details about GASHE, see about GASHE.

Q. Do you hold these records, and can I see them?

A.

GASHE does not hold any records. The collections listed on this website are held by the individual institutions that are part of the GASHE Project. Any interested parties wishing to research these collections will have to contact the appropriate institution to arrange a consultation.

Q. Can you research the records for me?

A.

No. As stated above, GASHE does not hold any records. Contact would have to be made with the appropriate institution to ascertain whether they offer this service to individual researchers and if there are any costs involved.
